FWBO/TBC Highlands runs on the basis of generosity. Many people ask for guidance as to the size of the donation they should make so we have made suggestions specific to each event. The more you are able to give the more we are able to expand our activities, and ultimately our aim is to be able to fund a centre. However, all donations big or small are very much appreciated.

Buddhist devotional practice

The purpose of devotional practice is to bring our emotions into play. It can come as a shock to find that buddhism is more than a set of rational ideas and the emotions aroused can range from embarrassment to alarm as practices like chanting and saluting the Buddha image are reminders of previous 'religious' conditioning.
However, many people find that with time such practice becomes increasingly meaningful and a very helpful part of their practice.
Those wishing to observe only are more than welcome.
